Export

Export options

Export to MP4, MOV, or GIF. Pick the codec, resolution, and frame rate. Multi-core rendering keeps things fast, even for long recordings with lots of effects.

Formats

MP4, MOV & GIF

One for broad compatibility, one for Apple workflows, one for animated clips.

MP4

Plays everywhere: browsers, social media, messaging apps, presentations.

MOV

Apple's container format. Works best with macOS apps, Final Cut Pro, and other Apple devices.

GIF

Animated GIF export using libgifski for good dithering and small files. Quality slider goes from low to maximum.

Codecs

H.264, H.265 & ProRes

Four codecs, from everyday sharing to pro post-production.

H.264

Works on everything. Good compression for typical screen recordings.

H.265 (HEVC)

Up to 40% smaller files than H.264 at the same quality. Worth it for high-res recordings.

ProRes 422

High bitrate intermediate codec. Near-lossless quality with fast decoding in Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve.

ProRes 4444

ProRes with an alpha channel. Use this when you need the best possible quality for post-production.

Resolution

Resolution & frame rate

Export at the original resolution or scale to a standard size. Output frame rate is set separately from the recording.

Original Resolution

Exports at the exact source resolution. No upscaling, no downscaling.

Scaled Output

Scale to 4K (3840x2160), 1080p (1920x1080), or 720p (1280x720). Useful when a platform needs a specific resolution.

Frame Rate

24, 30, or 60 fps regardless of what you recorded at. Frames are resampled to match.

Rendering

Parallel & manual rendering

Multi-core parallel rendering for speed, or single-threaded for compatibility.

Parallel Rendering

Spreads rendering across all CPU cores. Noticeably faster on Apple Silicon and multi-core Intel Macs.

Manual Rendering

Single-threaded export for when parallel rendering causes trouble with complex compositions.

Progress & ETA

Progress bar with ETA. Cancel any time without losing your project.

Audio

Audio export

Stereo mix with adjustable bitrate, noise reduction, and the volume levels from the editor.

Audio Bitrate

Set the audio bitrate. Higher values keep more detail in voiceovers and music; lower values save space.

Mixed Audio Tracks

System audio and mic are mixed into one stereo track. Volume levels from the editor carry over.

Noise-reduced Microphone

When noise reduction is on in the editor, the cleaned audio goes into the export instead of the raw mic recording.
